Towards a unified ecolinguistics + Diachronic corpus-assisted ecolinguistics for exploring language change and the environment

In the first portion of this talk, I discuss developments in ecolinguistics over the past decade that have contributed to increased unification and sharpened focus for a historically quite diverse field of study. In the second, I present my ongoing research in diachronic corpus-assisted ecolinguistics in which I explore how social data captured in large corpora provide insight into changes in ecological wellbeing and our shifting understandings of and relationships with the more than human world.
